The Seder Supper, this year led by our dear former Rector, the Ven. Dawn Henderson ?is an experience that will forever change how you understand the Eucharist.? It is based on the Passover Supper that Jesus would have shared with his disciples on the night prior to his death, It was at this supper that Jesus instituted the Eucharist and the parallels between these two meals are full of meaning.? All are welcome and encouraged to attend.? We do ask that you let Linda Langdon know if you are coming, though, to ensure that there is a place set for you!

Holy Week Meditation Stations ?A Walk With Jesus?

From Monday to Thursday, the Church will be open for you to drop in at your convenience for a few moments or a few hours as you wish, and as often as you wish.? You will find the church transformed into quiet space with various ?stations? ( pieces of art, or written meditations, or recorded music and monologues to prompt your private prayers and meditation) that will help you think deeply about the meaning of Christ?s passion, death and resurrection. You may move from station to station at your own pace, in the order you choose and as the Spirit prompts you. This experience is our gift to the wider community, so feel free to invite your friends, family or neighbours to come by.? The church will be open at the following times:?

Maundy Thursday Service

This solemn and quiet service reminds us of the Last Supper Jesus shared with his friends, including a washing of the feet (for those who desire this ? some choose to participate and others choose to observe). It was at this supper that Jesus instituted our Eucharist and so we celebrate that with special meaning.? The service concludes with the stripping of the altar and sanctuary to remind us that Christ was stripped of all dignity and honour for us. The service ends in silence, for it is really the beginning of the ?Tridium? ? one single service that extends in three sections over the three days leading up to Easter morning (the other sections are the Good Friday and Holy Saturday?s Easter Vigil liturgies)

Good Friday Prayer ?Walk???????????????????????? 8:30 am beginning at St. Brice?s

This ?Walk? is actually a drive as a convoy of cars moves to various locations in the city praying for our city officials, police and fire services and others.? This is a tri-parish event, headed up by our sister parish, St. Brice?s.

Good Friday Service???????????????????????? 10:30 am at St. John the Divine

This is a solemn service, which this year we share with our sister parish ? St. John the Divine on Main Street at their location. In a liturgy that ?walks? with Jesus in his approach to the cross, we remember his death and suffering on our behalf.

Holy Saturday ? Easter Vigil??????????????????????? 7 pm (with Baptism)

Having passed through the darkness of Holy Week, the poignancy of the last supper on Maundy Thursday and the agony of Good Friday we break forth into praise as the New Fire of Easter is kindled (with an actual small fire to light the Easter Candle), candles are lit and we celebrate Jesus? resurrection.? The redemption story is traced through scripture and song, and we are reminded of our baptism as we celebrate the baptism of two precious little ones.

Easter Sunday??????????????????????????????????????????????? 9 am BCP

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? 10:30 am BAS

We cannot fully appreciate the joy of Easter morning, until we are willing to walk with Christ as fully as possible from the adulation of the palms, through the anxiety of that last week, the agony of Good Friday and the quiet despair of Holy Saturday. As we walk that path with the One who gave His life for us, our hearts are stretched to receive the outpouring of joy that begins at the Easter Vigil and finds it culmination in the glorious praise of Easter morning.? We encourage you to ?walk the walk? this year.? We know you will be glad you did!
