Praise and Healing Prayer at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Church. This will be a regular event on the third Sunday of the month.

Learning Opportunities (Sept. 10 - June):  Monday Bible Study 2018 PR

(no Monday study on October 8th (Thanksgiving))

  • Mondays, 11-12, Interdenominational study (Christ Church or online)  Genesis
  • Mondays, 1 - 3, Interdenominational study (Christ Church or online)  The Gospels in Chronological order with a focus on the healing ministry, miracles and parables of Jesus
  • Wednesdays, 7 am, Bible Study on the Lectionary readings

Oct. 13: Post Thanksgiving Men’s Breakfast at St. Brice’s at 9:00 a.m. Guest speaker is Chuck Vaughan. Goodwill donations gratefully accepted. All welcome to attend and bring a friend.

Oct. 13: Discover Your Spiritual Gifts  9:30 to Noon, St. John’s Thorneloe Room. All of us have spiritual gifts. Discover what yours gifts are in this interactive workshop. Register through the office (705-472-6070) or text Rev. Beth at 705-303-8681 for more information.

Oct. 14: Deadline to order frozen meat pies from St. Peter’s in Callendar. Pick up Oct. 27 at St. Peter’s Woodward Hall between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. $5.00 each for 5” diameter pies.

Oct. 14: An opportunity to remember loved ones buried  in St. John’s Cemetery. There will be a short service at the Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. during which those buried in 2017 will be recognized, followed by time to visit the graves and place flowers (they will be available). Refreshments will be provided.

Oct. 14: Book Sunday. Christian Salvage Mission is collecting the following to ship overseas to developing countries: BOOKS----Bible dictionaries, counselling books, Theology, Bible Commentaries, Church Growth & Discipleship, Christian Biographies, Bible Handbooks, Christian fiction, Sermon helps, Bible Study Books & Booklets, School books from Christian Schools (math, spellers & basic readers) as well as medical books.
BIBLES ---All versions---New & Old Testaments, Bibles (in good condition)
TEACHING HELPS---FLANNEL-GRAPH, Children’s books, VBS material, clean Sunday School material, even if it is not a complete set
MUSIC---Hymn books with music, Chorus books with music, Sheet Music with words.   Christian CD’s and DVD’s of well-known Ministers & speakers
MAGAZINES, DEVOTIONALS OTHER ITEMS---Confident Living, Daily Bread, Decision, Discipleship Journal, Focus on the Family, Friends of Israel, Good News Broadcaster, Gospel Light, In Touch, Insight for Living, Israel My Glory, Leadership, Scripture Press, Today, and Turning Point

Oct. 14: Celebration of New Ministry for Joan Morris at St. Mary’s, Powassan, at 3:00 p.m. Followed by  a reception. All welcome.

Oct. 15: Readers/Lectors Workshop  6:30-8:30pm St. John’s Church Dr. Bruce Ward will equip readers with practical tips and information on how to make the Word come alive on Sunday mornings, be friends with the microphone and many other useful guidelines.   Register through the office.

Oct. 19: 9:30 a.m. Worship Committee meeting.

Oct. 19: Spaghetti Supper from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Gluten free spaghetti available, meat or veggie sauce, garlic bread, salad, dessert. $12.00 per person.

Oct. 20: The Rev'd Dr Derek Neal invites you to an open house reception marking his 50th birthday, on Saturday, October 20, from 3:30-6:30 pm, at Christ Church, North Bay. Drop in whenever you wish and for as long as you like, but please do not bring gifts! Refreshments will be provided. If you think you might attend, a note or phone call to Christ Church at office@christchurchnorthbay.ca or (705) 495-4659 would assist in planning.  You will be very welcome!

Oct. 21 Food Bank Sunday

Oct. 21: Praise and Healing Prayer at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Church. This will be a regular event on the third Sunday of the month.  It will be a liturgy of music (traditional and contemporary), Scripture and a teaching based the theme of healing, followed by an opportunity for individual prayer ministry.  All welcome.

Oct. 24 Marina Point Tea at 2:00 p.m.

Nov. 3: Beatrix Potter Tea and Bazaar from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tea Room $6.00. Attractions include: Grandma’s Attic, Book Room, Baking  and Deli, Craft Room, and a Display  of Beatrix Potter artifacts. This is a Sunday School fund raiser to help pay for a WELL in a developing country. All welcome.

Nov. 17: Christmas Bake and Craft Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2>00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Woodward Hall, 110 High Street in Callander.

Nov. 24: Christmas Tea and Bazaar at Christ Church.
