Learning Opportunities (Sept. - June):

  • Mondays, 11-12 , Interdenominational study (Christ Church or online)  Genesis
  • Mondays, 1 - 3, Interdenominational study (Christ Church or online)  The Gospels in Chronological order with a focus on the healing ministry, miracles and parables of Jesus

Dates:

Jan. 6: Men’s Breakfast St. Brice’s at 9:00 a.m. with the Rev. Richard White as guest speaker. There’s no cost, although there might be basket to cover the cost of ingredients. All men welcome.

Jan. 14: Morning Prayer services at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m.

Jan. 15: Archdeacon Joan Locke’s first day. Mondays are her Sabbath, so she will be in the office on Tuesday afternoon.

Jan. 20: Indoor Garage Sale at Christ Church from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.—good time to clear anything from your home that you won’t be putting back when the Christmas decorations come down!! For more info contact Colin Vickers at 705-845-8909.

Jan. 20: Turkey Dinner at St. John’s at 6:00 p.m. Menu consists of turkey, mashed potatoes, carrots, turnip, dessert and a drink. Adults $15, students $10, Children under the age of 6 $5. For tickets please call 705-472-6070 or 705-472-7732.

Jan. 21: Archdeacon Joan Locke’s first services here.  Food Bank Sunday.

Jan. 21: Monthly Evening Prayer at St. John’s, at 4:30 p.m., including time to learn new church music.

Jan. 25: Marina Point Tea at 2:00 p.m.

Feb. 9: Spaghetti Supper at Christ Church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. $12 each.

Feb. 13: Pancake Supper at St. John’s from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., complete with sausages, maple syrup and a beverage. Adults $10, Students $8 children from 6 to 12 $5 and no charge for children under six. For tickets please call 705-472-6070 or 705-472-7732.

Feb. 14: Ash Wednesday. Stay tuned for times of services.

Feb. 24: Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser with the proceeds from North Bay earmarked for the Gathering Place. Registration open now. The Christ Church team is called “Christ Church Snappy Strutters”. Simply go to https://cnoy.org/register and follow the instructions there. If you’d prefer to pledge to the Christ Church team, there is a pledge form on the shelf by Moreen’s desk for this purpose. Holy Land Pilgrimage 2018 organized by Bishop Stephen Andrews and Rev. Dr. Robert Derrenbacker for April 19-30. They will provide biblical, liturgical and spiritual leadership for the tour group. See poster on shelf by Moreen’s desk for details.
